Registering your company

How to Register a Business

All company registrations in Ireland are done through the Companies Registration Office. Firstly, you must decide if you are setting up business as a sole trader, as a partnership or as a limited company. The type of structure you choose depends on the kind of business you are running, with whom you will be doing business and your attitude to risk. It is advisable to get the advice of a solicitor or accountant when considering the structure for your business. You will find more information on the different types of structures on the Companies Registration Office website here.

In order to set up a company a Form A1 must be completed and submitted together with a constitution,(Only a one document constitution if the company is a LTD company, a memorandum and articles of association for all other company types). For full details of registering your company see www.cro.ie.
